In this week's satsang, Swami Shankarananda discusses the life and teachings of the esoteric spiritual teacher, G.I. Gurdjieff. In this talk, Swamiji explores Gurdjieff's ideas on the mechanical man, having personal aim in spiritual life, thinking from 'the work', internal and external considering, the three forces, and practising Self-remembering.

Satsang with Swami Shankarananda: Baba Muktananda - 8 June 2019

This week at satsang, Swami Shankarananda read from questions and answers with his own teacher, the great Siddha master Baba Muktananda. The questions were on topics including; worshiping God through love and devotion, regardless of your religion; the relationship with the Guru; mantra repetition; feeling a pressure in the head when meditating; what to do when confronted with violence or aggression.

In the second part of his Question and Answer satsang series, Swamiji answered the remaining questions sent in by devotees from all over the world. These questions were on subjects such as strengthening your yogic practice, finding your Guru, releasing attachment to outcomes, and honouring the different emotions that arise. Swamiji also spoke about self-acceptance and tearing thoughts, the mysterious principle of God, Guru and Self, satisfying personal desires in sadhana, the relationship between Shakti and wisdom, raising the vibration of your language and more.

Satsang with Swami Shanakarananda: Question and Answers Satsang - 25 May 2019

In this weeks special satsang, Swami Shankarananda answered many questions on spirituality that devotees had submitted. These questions were on topics including staying in the clear space of good feeling, quantum physics, contemplating the laws of your inner world, increasing love, second force, relating to the Guru, and the effect of spiritual practice on world issues.

Through the written stories of Baba's birthday events in Ganeshpuri, Swamiji discussed his teachings on greeting others with love and respect, seeing God in other people and the importance of knowing the inner Self.

This week in satsang, inspired by the recent retreat on the same topic, Swami Shankarananda gave a talk on the ancient Kashmir Shaivism principle of spanda. In this talk, Swamiji explored how we as yogis can get in touch with this principle and how it can show up in our inner world. Swamiji also discussed the thirty-six tattvas, Consciousness and the West’s opposition to the concept, the Shiva/Shakti relationship and the idea of embracing the world in our spiritual life.
